GEORGES OFFERS TO GO TO WASHINGTON TO KEEP JINDAL FROM SKIPPING DEBATE

After committing to appear at only two statewide televised debates or forums, Bobby Jindal is now saying he may skip the last one on Oct. 18 so he can be in Washington to vote. Leading rival John Georges said he will travel to Washington to debate Jindal if that’s what it takes for the voters to hear from all the candidates.

“The people of this state have the right to see their candidates and hear them directly address the issues we face,” Georges said. “Bobby has ducked and dodged debates and forums for six months, and it’s time for that to stop. If he is needed in Washington, we should move the debate to D.C.

“We’re willing to debate anywhere, any time. If Thursday evening is too inconvenient for Bobby, we can meet him earlier. I’m eager to debate and I’m anxious to ask him why he’s telling lies about me.

“Bobby can’t use the excuse of going to Washington to miss another debate,” Georges said. “The people deserve better. A governor can’t hide from his constituents, and neither should someone who wants to be governor. In my business, if an applicant doesn’t show up for the interview he doesn’t get the job.”
