WHERE: Ray’s Over the River; World Trade Center 2 Canal St., 31st Floor
WHEN: Friday, October 5, 2007, 6 PM.
WHY: To include the community in meeting the local candidates running for office in the upcoming elections.
New Orleans, LA – On Friday, October 5th starting at 6 pm at Ray’s Over the River in the World Trade Center on the 31st floor, NewOrleansBlack.com proudly invites the community to join the candidates of the 2008 state elections for this lively and informative event.
NewOrleansBlack would like to inform and include the community in this event by introducing the candidates running for office in the upcoming state election. Invited guests include local candidates running for office in the following races: Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, State Treasurer, Commissioner of Insurance, State Senator, and State representatives. With the help of these individuals, NewOrleansBlack invites the community to come support this group of candidates in their pursuit of informing the community about themselves and what they can offer if they are elected for office. This will be a chance for members of the community to get to know the people they are considering voting for and have their voice heard.
The Happy Hour networking portion of this event with take place from 6-9 pm. The candidates will be able to meet and greet with the audience and pass out candidacy literature on their campaign. Each candidate will have the opportunity the address the audience at the end of the Happy Hour. There will be an after-party with the world famous DJ Captain Charles. Guests must be at least 21 to enter and the dress code is strictly enforced: No sneakers, white tees, ball caps, no exceptions.
