CITY OF NEW ORLEANS CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE MONTHLY RECAP

The following Recovery Data sheet highlights key city departments during the recovery of the City of New Orleans. This week's information is a recap from March 1 to April 3, 2009.

Summary based on the data compiled from FEMA since September 2005; last update received on 03/29/09. Number of worksheets and total value may increase or decrease due to possible versions and/or de-obligations. An advance fee of $102 million was received immediately following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita for emergency work costs.

Note: On December 23, 2008, NORD was charged to make the immediate, federal mandated changes to the maintenance of public pools. Effective January 2009, according to the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Safety Act, or Public Law 110-140, NORD and all public and private pools in the Untied States must adhere to the new policies and procedures to install either of the following drainage systems that include a Safety Vacum Release System, Suction - Limiting Vent System, Gravity Drainage System, Drain Disablement system, and other systems that meet the federal mandated performance standard. The State of Louisiana has also required the installation of drain covers on every public and private pool. NORD has committed to complying with this federal and state law and will ensure the safety of all New Orleanians.
