AeroMexico provides new service:
Mayor C. Ray Nagin, AeroMexico U.S. Division Sales Vice President Frank Galan, and a coalition of regional leaders, including Greater New Orleans, Inc., Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, New Orleans Convention and Visitors’ Bureau, Louisiana Economic Development, and Oschner Hospital, made a special announcement on the steps of City Hall. The airline will begin offering direct non-stop international flights to Mexico City that will continue on to San Pedro Sula, Honduras. These will be the first direct international flights offered from the City since Hurricane Katrina.

Mayor Nagin presented a proclamation of recognition and a key to the City to AeroMexico for their commitment to New Orleans as the first carrier in our recovery to provide direct international service. Mr. Galan presented the Mayor and City of New Orleans a model of the aircraft that will begin service on July 6th with flights six times weekly. Rather than a flight of seven to 10 hours to Mexico, including travel to Houston, Atlanta, Dallas or Miami, travelers will now be able to go from New Orleans to Mexico City in less than two hours. After a stop in Mexico City, travelers will also be able to take a convenient connecting flight to San Pedro Sula.
