Pere Antione Alley Project
On Friday, March 20th, city officials and residents gathered in the French Quarter next to St. Louis Cathedral for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of repairs to historic sidewalks and curbs surrounding Jackson Square. The Pere Antione Alley, one of the main pedestrian walkways to Jackson Square, marked the final phase of the $540,000 project. Dr. Brenda Hatfield, Chief Administrative Officer, and Robert Mendoza, Director of Public Works, thanked citizens for their patience and support during the reconstruction process. Now, the upcoming French Quarter Festival goers will be able to promenade through the historic streets of New Orleans with ease. view more
