ST. MARY'S ACADEMY "FESTIVAL ON THE HIGHWAY" PREMIERES MARCH 20-22
Games, Amusement Rides, Craft and Food Booths, Mega Raffle, Talent Show, Battle of the Drumlines, Dance Team Competition and much more......


NEW ORLEANS (March 18, 2009)-St. Mary's Academy kicks off its Festival on the Highway this weekend, March 20-22 with proceeds benefiting the school's Enhancement Fund. The fun-filled event will feature carnival rides, games, food, entertainment, vendor booths, silent auction and $1000 Mega Raffle.
"We are very pleased to be able to partner with the Sisters of the Holy Family to host this exciting event that promises fun for the entire family," said St. Mary's Academy PTA president and festival co-chairperson Pamela Rogers, adding that the event will also serve as an excellent vehicle for showcasing the revitalization efforts that are continuing in the eastern sector of the city. "While we still have a distance to go toward the completion of our campus and the surrounding neighborhoods, we celebrate our successes thus far as a community that is on the upswing."

Festival on the Highway will include a Talent Show at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday as well as daily entertainment on the Main Stage throughout the festival. The event will be capped off with a much-anticipated performance by the renowned Gospel Soul Children on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. Festival times are: Friday- 10:00a.m.-2:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. 10:00 p.m.; Saturday 12:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m.; and Sunday-2:00 p.m. -6:00 p.m.

Founded in 1867 by the Sisters of the Holy Family, St. Mary's Academy is a private Catholic co-educational elementary/middle school and an all-girl's high school.
