Mother Leaves Six Day Old Baby Boy In The Arms Of A Stranger

A six day old baby boy in good health was dropped off at the Women's and Children's Hospital on Nelson Rd. It appears that the mother felt that she could not adequately take care of her son. Under the States Safe Haven Law, there are no charges filed against the woman.

Department of Social Services Secretary Kristy Nichols stated that she applauded this parent’s decision. The woman may be eligible to regain custody of her son if she contacts DSS. DSS will evaluate the case and make a decision based on the best interest of all involved.

I am grateful that the women cared about her son enough to take the time to drop him off at the hospital. I am sure that must have been the hardest choice she has ever had to make. Most of us could not imagine being in that situation. Nevertheless, the truth is many women face decisions on a baby or fetuses’ life daily.

I believe in pro life. I feel that when a person chooses to become intimate they are responsible for dealing with every consequence that follows. When a woman chooses not to carry a baby to term; that possible President, or Doctor will pay the ultimate price, DEATH.

My hat is off to this woman because she decided to give her child a chance at life and in that she should feel proud. She showed true courage in her actions. If more women and men would take the responsibility for making babies, we would have less abortion and fewer babies killed after birth.
