FEMME FEST 2009

Section: Community

Michele Burton-Oatis

In the spirit of Women’s History Month, the Jazz and Heritage organization will host an event that displays the artistic creations of the Professional Women Artists of the Greater New Orleans Area. Organized by the Women's Caucus for the Arts of Louisiana, the exhibit will be on display from Saturday March, 14, 2009 through April 4, 2009 at the Jazz & Heritage Gallery located at 1205 N. Rampart Street (corner of N. Rampart and Gov. Nicholls).

There will be an opening reception held on this Saturday, March 14, 2009 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Jazz & Heritage Gallery. It is my belief that this will be a very enjoyable experience. However, the event that takes place the following week will be most engaging.

On Wednesday, March 18, 2009 there will be a Round Table Panel discussion. The topic of conversation is Women’s Vision Women’s Voices. This topic should draw a lot of women of all shades of beautiful, to the event. In my case, sometimes my voice doesn’t reflect my vision. I guess I need to jot a few ideas down before I attend the event. I believe this event will be held at the Jazz & Heritage Gallery. The discussion starts at 7:00pm and ends at 9:00pm. You may want to be on time since the event only last two hours.

This is a must for women. Take the time alone or with your girl friend to celebrate simply being a WOMEN!
