Common Application: One Application, Many Schools
You can apply to most public schools in New Orleans using the common application, available at participating public schools in New Orleans, at the RSD Welcome School, 2239 Poydras Street, and online at www.rsdla.net. Applications to all RSD traditional and charter schools due March 30. Call 1-877-343-4773 with any questions.

TFL Community Advocacy Grants (CAGs)
The Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living announces the availability of up to $624,000 in statewide CAGs to foster community involvement in reducing exposure to secondhand smoke, preventing youth tobacco initiation, promoting cessation, and reducing tobacco-related health disparities. The Porch's Third Annual Seventh Ward Road Race
Saturday, March 21 | 9 am | 1941 Pauger
The 5k Walk/Run will be followed by music, food, and drink.

HandsOn New Orleans Day is a day to serve alongside neighbors, remember great community leaders, and envision a better, brighter New Orleans. Visit the HandsOn New Orleans website for more information, or email Amy Allen to submit a project idea.

2nd Annual McClendonville Mixer
Thursday, March 26 | The Suite Restaurant, 3580 Holiday Dr., Suite 8 | 6 - 8:30 pm | $30
The fundraiser will benefit the Tunisburg Square Neighborhood Civic Association. All checks should be made payable to Tunisburg Square and mailed to P.O. Box 740553, New Orleans, LA 70174. Call Leslie Ellison with questions at 504-812-9376.

FamilyFest @ Mahalia Jackson School
Saturday, March 28 | 11 am - 6 pm | Nicola Cotton Park and PlaySpot, 2405 Jackson Avenue
Families are invited to celebrate the life of Mahalia Jackson and the January 2010 opening of the Early Childhood & Family Learning Center at Mahalia Jackson School.

Louisiana Recovery Resource Fair
April 3 | Lamr-Dixon Expo Center, 9039 Saint Landry Road, Gonzales, LA | 8 am - 5 pm
Learn about govt. programs and sources for funding to help you complete recovery projects and facilitate emergency preparedness. To register, send contact information for each registrant to Paul Bratton or call 504-762-2202.

Fifth Annual Celebración Latina
April 5 | Lawrence Square Park (corner of Napoleon and Magazine) | 12 pm - 6 pm
A family-oriented event that offers a great opportunity for New Orleanians to come together to celebrate the cultures of Latin America and New Orleans. For more information, contact Denise Woltering at 504-862-3143 or click here.
