Danny Glover to Speak at Reception for New Book About

the Restaurant Opportunities Center

New Orleans, LA, March 3, 2009 – Danny Glover will join hundreds of other New Orleanian residents on Tuesday night at a reception for The Accidental American: Immigration and Citizenship in the Age of Globalization, a new book about the Restaurant Opportunities Center, an organization dedication to winning improved wages and working conditions for low-wage restaurant workers. The event, which will take place at the Community Book Center on historic Bayou Rd., will feature the authors of the book and the members and staff of the newly-launched Restaurant Opportunities Center of New Orleans (ROC-NOLA).

The Accidental American: Immigration and Citizenship in the Age of Globalization, authored by Rinku Sen and Fekkak Mamdouh, chronicles the life of Mr. Mamdouh, one of ROC’s Co-Founders and a former employee of Windows on the World, the restaurant at the top of the World Trade Center. It also documents the founding and growth of the Restaurant Opportunities Center into a national organization.
