$624, 000 in statewide Community Advocacy Grants

The Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living (TFL) announces the availability of up to $624,000 in statewide Community Advocacy Grants (CAGs) to foster community involvement in reducing exposure to secondhand smoke, preventing youth tobacco initiation, promoting cessation among youth and adults, and reducing tobacco-related health disparities. The TFL Community Advocacy Grant Request for Application (RFA) and complete guidelines are available for review and download at http://www.tobaccofreeliving.org


TFL plans to offer three Scope of Work Options for the period of July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010 (FY 09/10). They are:
1. Scope of Work Option 1: Tobacco Prevention & Control Advocacy With Youth (11-17 year olds)
2. Scope of Work Option 2: Tobacco Prevention & Control Advocacy with Priority Populations (e.g. women, musicians, LGBT, persons over 50 years of age, etc…)
3. Scope of Work Option 3: Tobacco Prevention & Control Advocacy with Young Adults (18-24 year olds)


All interested organizations and potential applicants are invited to attend one or more informational web meetings on Tuesday, March 3 or Wednesday, March 4. These RFA information sessions will be held per Scope of Work (SoW) Option and require that you register in advance. To register for a web meeting for your specific Scope Of Work Option, please send your name, organization, and email to me at jbutts@lphi.org or 504-301-9833 by COB Monday, March 2, 2009. Make sure to indicate which session(s) you are interested in attending. Login and call-in information will be sent out to all those who register. The dates and times of the information sessions are as follows:
• Scope of Work Option 1 RFA Info Session Call
March 3rd, 10:00 am-11:30 am
• Scope of Work Option 2 RFA Info Session Call
March 3rd, 1:00 pm-2:30 pm
• Scope of Work Option 3 RFA Info Session Call
March 4th, 9:00 am-10:30 pm
