NEW ORLEANS POLICE, FIRE AND EMS JOIN FORCES TO FILM THEIR FIRST EVER
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

NEW ORLEANS, LA (March 3, 2009) ---- The City of New Orleans public
safety departments, which includes New Orleans Emergency Medical
Services (NOEMS), New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD), and New Orleans
Police Department (NOPD) have partnered to film their first ever public
service announcement (PSA) titled Keeping NOLA Safe.

This collaborative effort highlights the tireless dedication of New
Orleans' first responders in a tribute to and with gratitude for the
citizens and visitors of the City. New Orleans EMS, NOPD and NOFD
developed the PSA to demonstrate how interagency cooperation keeps
residents and visitors safe from unanticipated events such as crime,
acute medical illness or injury and the loss of property through fire.
These departments remain committed to making New Orleans a safer place
to live, work and visit.

"This PSA allows us to communicate to the public exactly what it means
to be servants of our community. This is so much more than just a job.
It is an honor and a privilege to be of service to our friends,
neighbors and the visitors to our great city of New Orleans," said
Charles Parent, Superintendent of the New Orleans Fire Department.

"This PSA definitely shows the unity, importance and value of first
responders who face daily challenges that are unknown and unthinkable by
the average citizen," said Warren Riley, Superintendent of New Orleans
Police Department.

Each department's public affairs staff participated in weeks of planning
and preparation for the PSA, which was filmed during a five day period
by the Film and Video Production Department of Southern Arkansas
University Tech (SAUT) in November of 2008 at no cost to the City.

"We are extremely grateful for the artistic work of the students of
Southern Arkansas University Tech in providing this public service
announcement to the City of New Orleans," said Dr. Jullette Saussy,
Director of New Orleans Emergency Medical Services. "We are indeed proud
to serve and protect the citizens of New Orleans and remain grateful for
their overwhelming support."

The PSA can be viewed in its entirety on the City's website at
http://www.cityofno.com/pg-126-56.aspx. DVD copies of the PSA are
available to all media outlets upon request. For more information
